citizen, what that means to me
I have been defining myself as a global citizen for ages now, basically because I go to so many places! But also, I actually feel welcome there. Furthermore, my irish passport is very enabling!
I love travelling and experiencing cultures, that's a huge part of my motivation, even to attempt an international scale career. It's quite the experience to have an international career, to be well received by people you only can really maybe just try to understand. I treat everyone I encounter with dignity, respect and humility. Maybe this is my golden ticket to feeling so global.
Citizen itself as an idea, amounts to more than the Chinese concept of confirming and is different to the western concept of freedom. I would regard being a citizen as a duty to the state/nation/globe to act responsibly, kindly and open mindedly. So it's like all sorts of people live all sorts of lives... Nice if they like it ☺️. No judgement.
It also means I'm very aware of climate issues and openly discuss (with an effort to live sustainably) that topic as well as being pro-peace. To me, any conflict is futile.
