There was a hippo named Glenda and she lived in the hippodrome stealing footballs from the wicketmen. She was a sports fan through and through.
Although she couldn't play football to a great extent she made an excellent goalie given her girth and ferocity. Balls bounced right off her. 
She never forgot to wave her tail at the zookeeper who had raised her when he came to show his support.
